Vic: Dead woman suffered multiple stab wounds
MELBOURNE, Aug 27 AAP - A woman whose body was found in a south-east Melbourne flatyesterday had died from multiple stab wounds, police said today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ron Iddles said Rose-Ann Holmes, 50, had been dead for upto two days before her body was discovered by a friend about 4.30pm yesterday.
Neighbour John Wierzbinski made the find after Ms Holmes's mother phoned and askedhim to check on her.
Det Snr Sgt Iddles said there had been no sign of forced entry into the flat, and nomurder weapon had been found.
"She's been stabbed multiple times," he told reporters.
"I wouldn't say it's a frenzied attack, but it's a reasonably vicious attack."
