NSW: Terror bill unconstitutional: Greens = 2

Ms Rhiannon said the Greens would support some changes to the bill proposed by theOpposition in relation to oversight by the corruption watchdog and limiting the policeminister's powers.

But if the laws went through unchanged, Ms Rhiannon said she could challenge them inthe Supreme Court herself.

"It may well come to that," she said.

"Clause 13 is clearly unconstitutional, and if necessary I will follow it through toensure that this bill is struck out."

While acknowledging the government could win over the six cross-benchers it needs tomake up the numbers for the bill to pass without changes, Ms Rhiannon said there was disquietabout how they had been treated.

"We have a job to do and we've heard for two days now extraordinary behaviour fromthe premier and the police minister really trying to intimidate cross bench members fromdoing our job," she said.
